I began my professional career in massage therapy in 1982 after receiving my diploma from Bowers Tech. subsequently opening one of the first massage therapy centers in the Chicago area, Caring Hands Massage (Hubbard Woods).
When my son graduated from Chiropractic School, I joined his practice as Director of Massage Therapy at North Glen Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Glenview, IL. I have over 29 years experience in the field and have used many modalities, but my two favorite therapies are Reflexology and Aromatherapy. My studies with the International Institute of Reflexology started in 1991 and when I moved to Tennessee, I fulfilled the State requirement to become a Registered Certified Reflexologist in 2004.
Around that same time, I became a student of the Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education, eventually continuing on to become one of their Certified CARE Instructors. The teaching bug bit me and I also joined the staff of Natural Health Institute/Genesis Career Institute where I taught Reflexology and Aromatherapy to massage students.
All of this has led to me founding the first Professional Reflexology Certification Program in Nashville, TN, Nashville Academy of Reflexology, LLC, projected to open its doors on May 28, 2013, pending authorization from Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
